Digital dictation machines are now widely available and are revolutionising the workplace. They have replaced analogue tape machines. Immediate transfer of sound files from one location to another is now commonplace.
How does it work?
- A good quality digital sound recorder is used to create a sound file which is saved on the client PC using software already provided with the recorder.
- Client logs on through Internet Explorer to their password protected page on OutSec FileManager and copies the sound files from their PC to this area.
- Email notification is automatically sent to the dictator ( and their secretary if required) that the work has been received and is being transcribed.
- After checking, the completed document is returned with another email client notification that work is ready for collection.
- The client logs back in to their own page on FileManager and saves the completed Word documents back to their PC.
By using the existing office infrastructure, anyone with a PC and Internet access can take advantage of this new innovative technology.
