I want to be able to use my mobile phone to record and send sound filesIt is now possible to use mobile phones to record and send files direct to OutSec. Here are some examples. Please contact Richard Phillips, Operations Director, for more information. Apple iPhone. There is a special OutSec program you can now buy from iTunes or iStore called Dictamus - just a £5.99 one-off payment with free upgrades or as a limited version free trial. If you load this on your phone it will not only turn it into a digital recorder but also allow you to submit work direct to FileManager from a screen that is already formatted to OutSec. Very clever indeed! No need to return to the office to send work. It is a quick easy install. Blackberry. Certain Blackberry devices will now also record - if you have one made in the last 2 years then it will almost certainly have this function although you will still have to load software. You will need to check the size of your memory card as this will affect the length of recording you can make on older models. We have found that a program available from Dataworxs (free!) works well. You should be able to install this from your Blackberry Desktop Manager. You will still need an OutSec mailbox (email address) to send the files. Please contact OutSec and we will create one for you at no charge. |
*Please note that OutSec has no affiliation with Dataworxs and we do not support this program. It will only work on certain Blackberry models. Make sure you also download the User Guide on the Dataworxs website.* More modern phones will have wifi capability for the sending of soundfiles but older versions may still use email so you will have to contact your ISP or mailbox provider to clarify whether your protocols allow this. Some mailboxes filter the soundfile attachment and see it as spam! OutSec would also need to set up a dedicated mailbox (at no extra charge) to receive these files. OutSec is currently developing a software program similar to the Apple Dictamus software program specifically for Blackberry devices. If you would like to be kept informed of this development project, please register your interest by sending an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. If you have a Nokia then you should be able to dictate and send work to OutSec. |
