There was no “How-To Start a Company” book for online transcription companies back in 1999. There were no online transcription companies. The founders, Vanessa and Richard Phillips, had experience of good and bad employers prior to setting up OutSec. This knowledge base was used to create a business that would avoid the mistakes of the past whilst creating a company of the future. A combination of basic common sense and high personal values were applied to sound business principles...and a new industry was born.

A virtual internet-based organisation with staff located around the world presents a new set of management and logistics problems. The old maxim ‘treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself’ may be a cliché but it is a statement of belief at OutSec and helps explain why Investors in People status was achieved in record time despite the lack of any central office function. A strong moral and ethical stance in maintained through all stages of the business, from initial typist applications to final delivery of completed work.

OutSec does not use any typing facilities in the Indian sub-continent, nor is it the intention to do so at present. We are emphatically a British company operating under British law. OutSec secretaries will have first-hand experience of the British system, be it in the legal, medical, property, financial, interview or any other commercial sector. This invaluable knowledge and insight allows OutSec to maintain the high level of accuracy and quality of work required by our clients. A suitable financial compensation is paid to our database of highly skilled secretaries to reward this first-hand experience. If you want cheap sweat-shop labour rates, try another website.

OutSec does not:

  • make cold-calls or employ aggressive marketing tactics
  • use your personal details for sales purposes
  • rubbish our competition
  • practice ageism, sexism or religious discrimination
  • exploit the weak and disadvantaged

OutSec does:

  • assess every typist application on its merits
  • attempt to exceed client expectations
  • help each individual maximise their potential
  • realise that technology is designed to help, not replace, human beings
  • ensure that each client is suited to our services
